Lego Comissions

I'm shocked I forgot to post this one.  Not only was it a large drawing, but it was also the first drawing that was paid for in Lego.  When I was more active in the Texas Lego User Group, there was a guy who was a member and was also the manager of the Lego store in Austin.  He got an offer to move on up in the world and so left Austin.  He asked if I would draw him and he said he noticed the "pay with Lego" thing on the site, and so we made a deal.

Now granted, he has access to Lego like other people don't, but that shouldn't stop you if you like the idea.  I don't know if people know this about me, but I love Lego and have a lot of it.  Being paid in Lego isn't just a gimmick, it's an honest way to pay me.  I'd spend the money that way anyway.  So, for those of you considering just using Paypal to place an order, use it instead to order some Lego.  The wish list in that link is always current and the prices should always match.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email.

In the end, you could get a neat drawing like Kevin did. :)

215 Revenge of the 80s

I think the song associated with this video might be pulled soon, but it fit pretty well.  I liked doing this one, though technically neither of these guys are robots.

214 Rolling Out

I'm rather proud of this one.  It's still a quick drawing.  Start to finish it's only a couple hours, but I like the lighting on this one.  It was a good photo to start.

Yes that's a female Bumblebee.

213 Nuts and Bolts

Been a while since I got an order with a video.  So here you go.  Also, doing a super fun commission, which I'll post when it's inked so as better to photograph.

The First Ten

As you know, I've been filling time between orders *cough* with a little notebook in which will be a robot drawing a day.  I'm up to ten now and here they are.  I hope you enjoy.

I'm not sure what to do with the notebook once it's done.  It may be that nothing is done with it.  Maybe it'll be a prize for a 300th order.  Someone suggested a raffle but I think that's illegal online since it's pretty close to gambling.

Anyway, it's fun and it's keeping me busy.

Robot A Day

I bought a Groupon for Jerry's Artarama and got some supplies last week.  Now I have a great little notebook in which I can draw about 50 robots.  I haven't decided what to do with the notebook when I'm done, so if anyone has ideas, I'd be glad to hear them.  As of now, it's just so I can draw something each day.

Started with these two.

212 Gabriel Mark II

So, despite the fact that there's a Kickstart campaign doing basically the same thing I'm doing, I'm not going to stop what I'm doing.  I might get off my butt and set up an Etsy shop, but again, that would require more than 1 order a month to justify.  I'll put the request to the fans again to spread the word about Robot Portraits.  Cheers!
